Introduction

Diocesan Board of Education (DBE) of Islamabad / Rawalpindi Diocese was registered under the Societies Act 1860. The Board is headed by Bishop of Islamabad/Rawalpindi Diocese as Chairman. Members of the Board include clergies as well as educationists. Executive Secretary of the Board runs the Office of the DBE. The office constitutes the departments of HR, Finance, in Service. Information Technology and Religious education, function of the organization is to promote education in our constituent schools located within the Diocesan boundary. Our motto is “Service with Compassion”. Our objective is to take practical steps to improve the intellectual, moral, social and economic conditions of the residents of the locality in which school that are under the jurisdiction of the DBE are situated, and thus to help in the formation and creation of a literate society.

Institutions Under the DBE.

A total of 45 schools are run under the DBE. These schools are located in upper Punjab, including Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Jhelum, Gujrat. Khgtrian, Khushab. Federal Capital and in Khyber Pakhtunkhawah Province. A total of 24,930 students are presently studying in our schools. Out of these students 15,000 students are Muslims whereas 9,920 are non Muslims. There are a total of 1,400 employees in our schools. The daily business is run by the Executive Secretary with staff in the office located in Rawalpindi. DBE is not a profit earning organization.
Majority of the schools are subsidized. Whatever, contribution comes from a few earning schools is spent on the sustenance of subsidized schools. Students from all walks of life are studying in our institutions.

Management Functions

DBE performs management functions through proper budgeting of schools, auditing through internal and internal auditors, appointment as well as appraisals of the School principals, salary classifications, and analysis of results. In Service training is imparted to the teachers through internal as well as external trainers/ facilitators.
